It tends to be more a reference to power in the scrum, rather than open-field skills.

Ok so pretty much what hot packs are (at least on ebay) is a retail pack of cards (not hobby) that the seller has pack-searched so that he knows what cards are in there. The most common way of finding out what is in the pack is to run your finger down the pack and see if you feel a place where a jersey card or autograph sticker is. The other way is for the seller to open up the pack of cards, see if there is a jersey/auto inside, and then reseal the pack. Now keep in mind that almost all "hot packs" are retail, so any of the cards inside are going to be of lesser value. I have bought hot packs on ebay, and usually there pretty bad cards with not too much worth. And if there is a good card, the seller has usually already removed it and put a cheaper card in its place. so, in general, i WOULD NOT recommend buying hot packs. If your looking to buy a pack of cards which contains a guaranteed hit, your better off going with these as they are hobby cards:
(all of these are relatively cheap, but have at least 1 hit in each pack of the box)
football-

Basketball-

Multisport-

Baseball-
