There are some flowers in this world that every person seems to like, no matter what their taste are; the Calla Lily is one of those flowers. Maybe it is because of its smooth lines or pure color, that this flower now part of most wedding decorations, is the symbol of “Magnificent Beauty”.
Right now, before jumping to any conclusion already, I believe it’s crucial for you to be aware of a bit regarding the history of the Calla Lily.
A Legend Is Born
A long long time in the past, as goes in ancient Roman mythology, Zeus encountered a mortal woman named Alceme and jointly they gave birth to the well-known half god Hercules.
Zeus, with a strong desire to enhance the divine character of his son, traitorously drugged his spouse the goddess Hera. After Hera found herself deep asleep, Zeus placed his son Hercules at her breast to let him feed himself with divine milk.
When the goddess Hera woke up from her sleep, and saw Hercules feeding himself at her breast, she through him away violently. In this action, some of Hera’s milk gushed across heaven forming what we know in the present day as the milky way. As for the drops of her milk that fell down onto earth, they then sprang into magnificent lilies.
These flowers became the center of attention for most of the mortals, and thus Venus the goddess of beauty began to feel threatened by this flower and cast a curse upon it. This is how a huge and heavy pistil abruptly started to sprang from the lily’s center.
This is how the Calla Lilies are born.
Offering A Calla Lily
Now in our real world away from the gods and goddess of ancient mythology, back into the 19th century, at a time when social ethic was such that it was very awkward to communicate your feelings with words to one another, giving flowers to convey a feeling was the best avenue.
Each flower (as we know by now) depending on its shade or display used to carry a special significance. The Calla Lily due to its resemblance to a female genitalia was at that time used to express feelings of lust and sexual desire.
As time passed, the Calla Lily became a representation of purity, holiness and faith. For that reason the Calla Lilies will build up a special feeling of devotion and purity in a wedding ceremony and this is why they are often seen coupled with roses during such events.
What better way to commemorate a flower with such a rich past than giving it eternal life as an origami flower? Actually, giving an origami Calla Lily will be best suited to any event celebrating birth a rebirth (in a physical or spiritual way).
Now that being said, an origami Calla Lily will at all times be welcome as a gift regardless of the time or situation as their beauty is treasured by all!

Liza, you know you’re world famous now! This is a huge win, but lots of us sort of figured you could pull it out! So many runners believe if you want to take things up a notch and win, you need to move to Colorado and train at altitude. You just proved them all wrong! You may start a new trend of top runners moving to Texas! : )

I'd expect more likely to be longer as well (though that would often be referred to as "tall" in sizing rather than "big"). In some cases they might be an even different category where each x, 2x, 3x is larger than normal all around.

Just sit her down and explain to her that although you really care for her and feel you are falling in love with her you are afraid things are moving a bit too quickly for you and you don't want to put pressure on the relationship.
I'm sure she'll understand if you tell her gently.
